Ce qu'un patron ne devrait jamais dire à un employé

If you are one to be referred by someone as BOSS, your words definitely are damn powerful. Whatever you utter before your employees have a robust impact on the rest of their day at the office and even later at home. So think before you speak particularly when it comes to employee interaction. Some words are so influential that they do not just spoil someone’s day but even affect one’s career. Your words can either influence a person to move towards the way to success or can leave him failed. Certainly not say anything that can discourage your employee or may leave a bad impression of yours and your organization. Make sure you earn respect and prove yourself a boss everyone would yearn to work with. We have rounded up here a few things a boss should never say to employees. Read on to know what these dangerous things are.

“I HOPE you can do so.”

The word “hope” can make your employee think that you are doubtful about his/her abilities. Instead, use the words that “I have confidence in you that you can do this.” Such words will motivate your employees to give their best.

“Sorry, I Can’t do anything for you.”

Being a boss you are expected to have an authority to do anything. But if there is some situation that is hard to handle or something you can’t solve the way your employees expect, discuss it with them rather than apologizing or refusing straightly.

“I can replace you.” or “you are paid to obey me.”

You are the boss and you definitely have the authority to hire or fire someone. But you do not need to remind this to your employees all the time. Do not give your workforce comments like “I’m the boss and you are here to obey Me.” or “Do whatever I’m saying. I am the in-charge here.” More power brings more responsibility, so rather misusing you power try to be more responsible, gentler and calmer in your approach. Reminding people that you can replace them anytime discourages them and adversely influences their productivity.

“You should not dress up this way.”

Sometimes your employees need feedback from you particularly when it is for their growth and the betterment of the organization but make sure that your comments do not offend someone. For example, “You dress up so poorly” or “your desk is so messy.” These are the things that reflect your own preferences and have no impact on your firm.

“No one else has this problem” or “you’re the only who always has problems”

Do not daunt your employees if they share some problem with you. Maybe the whole team has that issue but they don’t have the nerve to come forward. Being a boss it is your obligation to resolve the dispute and the best way is to discuss it with the whole team so you can have a clear sight of the matter.

“The company has bread a financial loss so we are cutting a chunk from your salary.”

If the company has suffered loss or there is a deficit in your budget, it is not the problem of your employees. Most likely you have not managed the company budget wisely and trying to compensate loss by cutting from your staff’s remuneration is also not a smart stunt.

“Do not bring personal issues to work.”

If you want your employees to be loyal and give their best, show them an attitude of shared responsibilities. Whether the problem is official or personal, consider your employee’s problem your own and try to solve it by the possible mean. If they are going through some crisis, their productivity will obviously be on the hit. So, involve yourself in all their problems and do not let them think that you are forcing them to put their personal life behind.

“I’m not satisfied with your work” or “You should work better”

There would be circumstances when you will not receive your desired results from your employees and this is when you need to stay calmer and handle the situation in a positive way. Rather than cursing your staff for not giving you your desired results, appreciate them for their efforts and ask them for putting a little more effort. More importantly, make sure that your worker fully understands what you want them.

“You need to give more time to work.”

No one likes to sit late at office or work after the normal office hours, so do not force your employees to do the same. Unquestionably, they won’t be as much productive in that period and they won’t be able to balance their personal and work life. Staying long in office doesn’t mean that are working hard, so never ask your workforce to give extra time to work.

“You are lucky that I gave you the job.”

If you hire someone, you first judge their skills and knowledge to evaluate whether that person is suitable for your organization or not. They do not need to be thankful to you for the job, so never try to disgrace them saying that “I favored you giving you this job.” Instead, appreciate them for their work and show them that you are lucky to have them as a part of your organization.

“I damn care what you think.”

If you are not welcoming your employee’s ideas and do not indulge them in significant decisions or conversations, you are indirectly putting a full stop on their creativity. They will prefer to keep their mouth shut and do not give any suggestion that could be beneficial for the organization. Reluctantly, it will create a negative environment and halt the progress of employees and your organization.

Crux

There are scores of ways to maintain a healthy relationship with your workforce but the most important of them is how you communicate with them. The words you use while interacting them and your tone have a sturdy impact on your employees’ productivity and growth of your business.
